These policies result from the implementation of the international frameworks, such as the United Nations’; 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), or the ‘Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance’; (EU Regulation 2020/852). This regulation was adopted to promote private sector investments in green and sustainable projects, contributing to the European Green Deal’s objectives. It aims to foster economic growth while protecting ecosystems, focusing on six key environmental goals: climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources, transition to a circular economy, pollution prevention and control, and the protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems. Furthermore, these policies align with the 2015 Paris Agreement’s goals to limit greenhouse gas emissions and global warming, along with other international protocols.

The contents of the policy are both substantial and binding, serving as precursors to the mandatory regulations, social expectations, and market needs of the near future.
